Diffractive and Total Cross Sections at Tevatron and LHC

Results from the Fermilab Tevatron p̄p collider on diffractive and total cross sections are reviewed with emphasis on physics significance and properties pointing to expectations at the LHC.

Total, elastic and diffractive cross sections at LHC in the Miettinen–Pumplin model

Predictions for the total, elastic and single diffractive cross sections calculated for the LHC in the framework of the Miettinen-Pumplin model are presented. The total cross section is expected to be 15% smaller than that determined by Donnachie and Landshoff in the model with soft pomeron. The diffractive cross section is almost constant in the Tevatron–LHC energy range.

Multi-parton Cross Sections at Hadron Colliders

We present an alternative method to calculate cross sections for multi-parton scattering processes in the Standard Model at leading order. The helicity amplitudes are computed using recursion relations in the number of particles, based on Dyson-Schwinger equations whereas the summation over colour and helicity configurations is performed by Monte Carlo methods. The computational cost of our alg...

Photon Cross Sections at Ecm = 2 Tev

Photon production rates have been studied by the DØ and CDF experiments in Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Measurements of the inclusive isolated photon cross section and the di-photon cross section are presented, based on integrated luminosities of 0.3 fb −1 and 0.2 fb −1 , respectively. The results are compared to perturbative QCD calculations in various approximations.

Dark Higgs models at the 7 TeV LHC

Abstract: We study how collider data and electroweak precision observables affect the parameter space of models including a new dark force mediated by a massive U(1) gauge boson. It acquires mass via a Higgs mechanism in the dark sector which is connected to the Standard Model through kinetic mixing of the two U(1) gauge bosons and the Higgs potential. We assess the impact of the 7 TeV LHC and ...
